2020 Washington Recovery Advocacy day
UP of WA advocated for HB 2734 End the Opioid Distributors Tax Break, HB 2642 “No Wrong Door” Inpatient Treatment Accessibility, HB 2793 Clean Slate Criminal Justice Reform, and for next year the Behavioral Health Workforce Stabilization on February 5, 2020.
Pictured below are Ebony and Antoinette, UP of WA President. Also pictured are Janine Colletta, Secretary, Ella, Assistant to the Treasurer, and Beverly Miller, Treasurer. Not pictured but definitely active in Advocacy Day was Cody West, UP of WA Board Member. UP of WA is only one of the many alliances Cody has to people with lived experience. He was recently named the Associate Director of Peer Seattle. He was moving too fast today for us to snap his photo.

2020 Feet on the Ground—Community Building
United Peers of WA will kick off the year by joining the Washington Recovery Alliance in Olympia on February 13th. Go to Send Us a Message on our Homepage to let us know if you can go with us. We may be able to help you with travel to Olympia!
In 2020, UP will continue a series of leadership trainings around the state. Those trainings will be followed with ongoing support in developing local peer groups with their own email list and Facebook page. Send us a message if you want to be one of those groups!
